SKYRIM!

That's why I am always quick to sell stolen goods before I do anything stupid, because you loose stolen good when you pay bounty, which is much cheaper than paying off the guard from looking the other way.

As long as you sneak with the CTRL button, when you take an object, it shouldn't appear in red as stolen. So far I have no stolen object, and I steal them all the time ! The system considers the use of the sneak function as wether or not your actively trying to steal an object without alarming someone.

I seem to have amassed quite a bit of gold and expensive unique items without stealing anything, other than quests for the thieves guild. Or maybe I have stolen stuff and I dont know it? How does the game show stolen stuff in the inventory, in red?

It just writes "Stolen" in red near the name.

phew... i can't remember when i've last spent this much time playing a game - i've got over 120 hours on Skyrim now and there's still a whole shitload of things to do. for a modern game, saying that's impressive is an understatement.

leveling has been harder now that i've maxed out one-handed - since you guys have been talking about smithing daedric stuff it kinda caught my interest so i started doing that... wish i would have started smithing earlier in the game, it can prove pretty useful and it's pretty fast to improve. daedric armor needs daedric hearts right? i've found like 7 or so, how much would i need for a full set?

One daedra heart per item. One for armor, one for helmet, one for gloves, one for boots... one for any weapon... I've got a bow, four swords [different enchantments] and a dagger... gonna eventually make a greatword and maces as well just for the fuck of it

When filling the world with items, the conceptors can decide if an item is owned or not. If it is, when you're in world pointing at it, it appears in red and there might be written "steal" (i haven't played in a few days so i don't remember). Then if you just take it, it's considered "stolen". Or maybe now in skyrim it needs the owner to see you take it, I don't remember all the details of how it works now. If you take an owned object while being hidden or sneaking, it doesn't appear as red in your inventory.

I'm not so sure but it's how I remember it, just check next time you're in game. I'm used to go in sneak mode to take an object, as it was in morrowing etc, maybe it's obsolete now that the actual sight of the owner is taken into account.

Pro tip: If you wanna steal something but there is always people around watching, you can actually pick up the item by holding the use button down and then move the item into a room where you are alone and then steal it :p

I have no trouble stealing and sneaking. I've spent almost the entire game in sneak and its now at 92. My archery is 91 too. The trick is to fire an arrow, then change location when the enemy is looking for you as they'll always look at the area you fired the arrow from.

what's the best weapon you guys have found so far?

i've had the Mace of Molag Bal for ages, and nothing just seems to top it. i have my one-handed at 100 and i've improved it by smithing so i'm hard pressed to find anything remotely close to its effectiveness. i'd like a lighter weapon as it's a mace and probably the slowest from the one-handed bunch.

Daedric sword and double enchant it ;)
