SKYRIM!

what's the best weapon you guys have found so far?

i've had the Mace of Molag Bal for ages, and nothing just seems to top it. i have my one-handed at 100 and i've improved it by smithing so i'm hard pressed to find anything remotely close to its effectiveness. i'd like a lighter weapon as it's a mace and probably the slowest from the one-handed bunch.

Unenchanted dual Legendary Daedric Swords. The trick is to get enchantment up to 100, then create a 'smithing suit', bumping your smithing up another 100 points. That way you can improve the swords even further.

Mine do 258 damage each, and with elemental fury just about anything is dead in a single power attack.

Does Elemental Fury not work with enchanted swords? I finally obtained this shout, but whenever I try to use it, it tells me that my swords are already enchanted.

You can craft and drink potions of smithing as well, can't you ? I haven't started being serious in enchantment or alchemy, hence why I am asking.

BTW, what is the workflow about using enchanted weapons ? What is the way to fill gems as you fight, so that you have enough of them 24/7 to maintain your use of enchanted weapons ?

Go to shrine of Azura and you will obtain an indestructible soul gem equivalent, then get a soul stealing spell and you will have infinite ammo for your enchanted weapons.

I've enchanted a sword that does fire damage and also if a target dies within 7 seconds, it fills a soul gem. I just stock up on empty soul gems and they always get filled just from killing shit.

 and here i thought my weapon was badass.

thanks for the tip! already made the switch to a daedric sword and improved it a bit, but i had no idea they could be improved that much.

also, i finally decided to pull myself through the main storyline, which turned out to be short, easy and a bit lame. hopefully i'll be able to find some questline that isn't completely mindless grinding like the rest of the thief, assassin and companion quests i have (there are some special ones in between but i'm starting to find them a bit boring, go kill this guy, steal this, kill that monster in someone's house...)

did anyone of you killed Mai'q the liar? what did you get? saw him near riverwood and I bashed him with my sword, started running all over the place , after I decided that our little "hide and seek" was over, I suddenly lost track. :Smug:

Yeah, they have to be plain.

@LeSedna: That's a great idea. I haven't messed with Alchemy at all, because I CBFed with recipes... but it sounds like a great idea to totally insanify your gear.

Anyway, work called big time and I probably won't touch this game for at least another month or two. Really sucks, but at least I get some longevity out of it!

Update 1.3 Notes (all platforms unless specified)

General stability improvements
Optimize performance for Core 2 Duo CPUs (PC)
Fixed Radiant Story incorrectly filling certain roles
Fixed magic resistances not calculating properly
Fixed issue with placing books on bookshelves inside player purchased homes
Fixed dragon animation issues with saving and loading
Fixed Y-look input to scale correctly with framerate
We’re also planning on rolling out support for 4-Gigabyte Tuning (Large Address Aware) next week for our PC users. Stay tuned!

Can't play a lot either atm, but I'm glad they adress the issues. I didn't experience any annoying bugs within the 90 hours I played, though
The times it takes to quickload or load a savegame are incredibly short anyways, and with 4 GB support it'll be even faster.

Why are archers SO GODDAMN STRONG? My new character can take on 2-3 guys with axes, no problem. But any time there's an archer, every arrow does about 70% of my health, and the archer himself has about 3x the health or armor of the melee guys. Is this a bug or something?

Is it in 1.3 ?

It would suck, but it would be quite realistic (the dmg received).

The framerate in my game is highly improved since 1.3. Markarth is still a little slower than normal but damn it's so much better. And resistances are back.

Jesus Christ, I'm not trying to spark a debate as to whether an arrow could pierce armor or not. My character is ridiculously weak to bows, I don't know why, and I'm seeing if anyone knows why or how to mitigate it.

I've never had any problems with archers/arrows hitting me :err:

The only one pissing me off are those god damn overpowered mages versus no resistance -_-
