Yeah this game isn't really doing much for me, echoing some of the before comments;
-Feels like Oblivion with mildly improved graphics and dragons
-Still can't actually attack anything when on a horse
-Voice acting is still extremely stilted
-A lot of the animations and actual locale decorations still look weird - the horse jumping - wtf?
-The map is horrible and unituitive
By the looks of the developer stuff it gave they impression that they had improved a lot but this is essentially the same game in a different wrapper.

But I still think that this game is way better than most of the RPGs out there, because of :
-the different races
-the story
-the many side-quests
-the different choices you have (in dialogues etc.)
etc.
I think it's pretty similar to the step from Fallout 3 to Fallout: New Vegas.
New Vegas is an awesome game, but there were only some little improvements made. But that fact doesn't make it worse compared to other games in that genre.

Despite my complaints I've managed to rack up 17 fucking hours on this game already. Exams for me are (pretty much) over, but my friends still have them, so I've had absolutely no commitments - gym and Skyrim

A friend of mine ordered it for all of us (5 times haha) and the delivery was fucking sloooow. Btw this was from UK to Germany so it's kinda funny it actually arrived yesterday and you still haven't got your game. I'm going to fetch it from him tomorrow, and hopefully have at least a few hours to play before drum tracking starts
Spent $350 yesterday pimping out my computer with RAM, new PS, and graphics card and just started this mofo. Only about an hour into it, but so far impressions:
Combat quite a bit better and more fluid
Don't like having to equip Destruction spells to a hand
Fucking hate the menu system so far
Game looks great, but I'm sure there will be mods that make it amazing
Can't wait for the mods to start coming out. The mods for Oblivion really helped that game a lot.

I think most here have it for PC.
Movement and combat is definitely better than in the predecesors, but still not perfect.
You can switch perspective just as in the others, and 3rd person combat is actually usable. Fucking hated it in Oblivion.

now i just have to find out if i can switch the german (very very poorly synchronized) language to english.
couldn't do it in BF3 and MW3, what actually ruined a lot of the atmosphere, so i hope it works in skyrim.

Someone needs to come up with some sort of 3rd party animation software so that all speaking can be animated properly and in all languages automatically, not that the language issue really affects me

Made a Nord... I usually do. Playing on PS3. Currently level 12 or 13, I forget. Not much for magic... just so far charging people and tearing them to shreds with a dual-wield or a two-handed weapon of sorts. Total bruiser psycho. I'm not much for magic either, I have to stock up on a shitload of healing potions lol. The electricity magic looks awesome, like some Palpatine shit.
Some of you guys took the beefcake route haha. I stuck with a wily little guy. This game is so goddamn cool aside from the minor cons. I'm 12 hours in and still havent been very far out of the Riverwood/Whiterun area.
