Then you obviously don't like metal. Why are you here?

There was a post by The Greys here that mysteriously disappeared. It went something like "Susperia you're a fag".

Anyway, Fight Club is good. Slayer is not.

O RLY.

Amarantus: I was basically just being obnoxious in that post, I figured you wouldn't pick up on it. Well, at least the second half. And no, a lot of posts does not equate a high rank.

Me disliking a mediocre band hardly means I dislike metal.

Well considering that classic Slayer is amongst the best that metal has to offer than... yeah I'd question whether you really like metal or not.

Perhaps best in their style... but then again maybe not -> Slayer may be one of those bands who have paved paths for their genre of metal and innovated but when compared to newer bands their music seems simplistic or, well, bad. Or the music is just plain bad, and only now it is realised.
Please note that no opinion has been stated in this paragraph! :)

There are far more musical forms of metal out there that still have true metal power, Slayer is hardly among the best metal has to offer - but this all depends on what you're asking of metal.

In the end it all boils down to opinion! But like I said, I would never buy their albums but I might still see them live anyway!!

weird. although im sure you arent the same person - i went to school with a guy called nick perrin and despite the fact that he was south african, he was actually a nice guy.</IRRELEVANT FACT>

Except no, classic Slayer is no where near the best. In thrash, Holy Terror are the best. Slayer are no where near them. To be quite honest, being the best of thrash doesn't mean much to me anyways.

So what if it is simplisitc? What matters is whether it is good or not. Guys can play uber complicated scales and riffs all they want and they aren't going to top Slayer's classic material. That's like saying "oh Darkthrone isn't really that good because they don't play complicated sophistaced music". Who cares? Darkthrone is good because it's GOOD.

Well I must keep in mind that you are the person who said that Priest and Maiden are overrated... so...

Which they are to me ... so what's it matter?

The classics do not have to be liked, fuck anyone who thinks that. Respect is all they must have.

Those classic albums remain classic not merely because of their influence but because of their quality. My point is that in dismissing great bands/albums such as these it shows some very questionable taste on your part.
