Snow in the land of ProgPower

I think it's hilarious, too when you're watching a NASCAR race and the announcers are wearing a hat and gloves in 50 degree weather.

I was in southern Cali 2 years ago in Jan and it was 60 degrees out and everybody was running around in winter jackets and pants...being from Chicago I was rocking the shorts and no jacket, they're all nuts out there.

Not a damn thing dropped over here. Just rain. We get screwed ... again :(

Really? Weird. We got some snow here in Auburn, maybe an inch and a half (although it was melting after falling, so it never built up to over an inch on the ground).

Roads stayed clear of snow, but are damp. Should be nice and slick in tonight's deep freeze.

2-3 inches in Georgia over the day. Its pretty, and its perfect snowball snow.

Did y'all get that much?

I'm guessing areas to my (and RiffDaemon's) south got more snow, based on the radar precip. track.

We are near Raleigh and we got some snow! Just enough to be pretty.

Instead of more snow this weekend, we got COLD. Just a hair above 20F. After eight years in WI winter, you'd think I'd be immune...but I have gotten to the point where I just really hate the cold. At least winter here only lasts for a few months! I don't mind the snow so much, but I wish people would have some sense. Just because you have a 4wd vehicle and can go fast in the snow doesn't mean you can STOP. Or make the turn without flipping.
Tess - I like your snow gnome. :D

Ha ha ha, it never snowed here in the mighty metropolis of Beauregard Alabama, but I drove to town (Opelika) about 15 mi. NE to get some drinking water and a new shovel to clean out my outhouse (well not really for those items) and there was snow on the rooftops of houses etc. but none of it stuck on the ground.
I must say though Shaye.... you have a right to have been worried. Although Atlanta is 80% yankees, had the weather been really bad, the few Southern born Atlanta residents would have been the bad drivers on that day. >:P~ I am, of course just teasing all of you from the North. I was awaiting snow here, but it never cme. The Nater (My Son) would have loved that.

After living all his life in Sweden, and most of it in Norrland, you'd think my hubby would be used to it, too, but he hates it, too. I think there's no "getting used to" bitter cold for that long. Oh, well, I think I will just stay down South here and not test out that theory myself! :D

Btw, it was warmer *there* than here at least part of Saturday! :u-huh:

Yeah, Aki said during the IRC chat on Sat. night that it was 32F there in Helsinki....and it was 22F here in Atlanta.

I'll blame 'sudden global climate change.' Or something. :heh:

Looks like parts of N. Georgia might get some freezing rain tonight. Sure feels cold enough for it....
