So my new life will start in... Porto !

Thank you "Testicle Milkshake" (gosh what a nickname !) I'm basically hitting on Ikea on a daily basis at the moment. Found a desk that would suit my need for space when it comes to music, although my setup is tinier now (laptop / Duet / headphones + DIbox and stuff) but it might host my HS80m when I get a chance to have them travel down here.

I'm gonna reiterate my question about portuguese phone plans because I feel like I'm gonna be raped if I don't choose the right one, they all seem to the same fashion as ours 10 years ago when you had to pay right from the 1st second a whole minute, or to the SMS, until you discover 5 days later you're already out of credit ! And the vodafone basic internet plan, maximum is 600mo for 16e/month wtf ?

Oh and, what are the big websites to know about music and all ? I'm gonna check the center of porto, there is the street "Rua Formosa" with 3 shops or something like that, but say I want to buy a cab one day, or sell a head, are there specialized websites ?

What are the most used website generally speaking to buy/sell things on classifieds, as well ?

It does, very much :) Thanks ! I checked 3 or 4 music shops in the center of Porto but they all looked average to me. They have mainly 2 or 300e guitars, a few good ones, unknown brand cables etc. The audio shop I found as well had one or two pairs of KRK monitors, and then only unknown or peavey or whatever it was. I was disappointed ! So I'm gonna check online in the future.

I'm from Portugal too, Lisbon! I've been in Porto a couple of times and people are definitely more friendly and nice there :)

About the phone plans, check "Vodafone Yorn Power Extravaganza" at least that's what me and most people from here have :)

About music stores don't know about the north but here we have a few good ones... I usually just buy everything from thomman, almost always cheaper :D

Good luck! :headbang:

Yeah I have seen 2 decent shops online in portugal but they are in Lisboa, and the ones in Porto are ok for basic things than I don't want to be waiting for days from Thomann (like straps/picks/whatever simple I need), but other than that they pretty much only have very cheap brands (I've never seen so many Stagg guitars !). I'm too used to my shop in Nantes FR which is tremendous for a city of its size ! I guess I'll stick to Thomann/Musikstore.

Just a question about the vodafone plans. These ones seem okay, considering I got that most people have vodafone as well.

I'm a bit confused wether I should take Yorn or Vitaminas. I think I might go for a pre-paid anyway because I use more my phone to call or receive calls, or sms, from/to france and it's usually a better move because I use the credit itself, while with a plan it's usually off the plan and adds up on the top of what I pay for the plan I don't even use (which is the case with my current french number and ends up costing me a lot).

So if I got it right, with Yorn, I would pay 15 a month (I'm talking pre-paid) and would have 15e of credit for 30 days, to the tarif shown on the page (link below), which includes free calls to Extreme/Extravaganza and 1500 sms/week to vodafone numbers. Then if I want internet I add an Aditivo for that which would end in the 20 to 30e ballpark depending on how much I use the phone right ?

Then with Vitaminas, it's more or less free calls and sms to vodafone, +500mb internet. Wouldn't this one be perfect for me ? https://loja.vodafone.pt/tarifarios/vitaminas/vita-zero.htm it's only 10e + 5e for a bit of 3G, and since I don't use my phone too much these days, it's a good starting price that I can top up when needed right ? I don't get if it's prepaid or not, it says so on the main page for Vitaminas, but it says mensalidade in the vita zero or vita plus page.

Do you get a warning when you approach your internet limit btw ?

I think overall the Yorn sem mensalidade is the best because it's pre-paid which is a better idea considering my use ! Did I miss something ?

Vitaminas : https://loja.vodafone.pt/tarifarios/vitaminas/

BTW I went to a Vodafone store a few days ago and the guy didn't seem very precise, he just opened his book and has shown me some pages and that was about it  I might go to the airport vodafone store because they must speak a good english which would help

EDIT : oh and forgot : thank you Miguel ! :)

There's a good and huge store near my town - "Sonigate" (http://www.sonigate.com/pt/), you can make orders from their website and the delivery is pretty fast I think...

Haha holy shit that's pretty confusing man... yeah you should go to a store and ask them whats the best solution for you, usually they're well informed and can advice you well, maybe you picked up a newbie the other time you went there ;)
Althought, I think nobody uses vitaminas nowadays... just go with yorn and ask about the internet and roaming services (I don't use it so I can't tell you how it works) :/

Cheers!

All right yeah I will do that in the next few days !

So vitaminas and yorn aren't compatible ? I thought it was that "91" thing. Hell, vodafone is so complicated in this country

Thanks for the help
