songs that send a shiver down your spine

  • The solo during Burzum's Ea, Lord of the Depths
  • The middle part of Sabbath's Die Young (the part after "someone's stopped, the fall...")
  • The intro, and solo battle during CoB's Downfall
  • That neo-classical sounding solo during Deicide's Stench of Redemption
  • The spoken word bits during Emperor's In Longing Spirit

Travel in Stygian-Iced Earth

The first time I heard that song I could imagine what was going through the Stormriders mind. The part of the first chorus where Greely holds down that note is just epic. Words can hardly describe how much I love this song.

Therion- Trul

The chorus. It's epic and massive as shit. And the solo is awesome.

Furthermore, Kristian Niemann's solo in Asgard is ripping and majestic. I'd add that to the list.

Carcass - This Mortal Coil. Fucking A this song rips!
Oh and any of the four songs off of Bloodbath's UTP EP.

The Carcass songs that hold most emotional resonance with me are Forensic Clinicism and Death Certificate...particularly the lyrics

"Machine coded, reduced to hard memory, in a data base
Digitalised, statistical obituary, your only legacy, your final resting place"

Katatonia - Without God
Negura Bunget - Ceasuri Rele
Primordial - The Coffib Ships
In The Woods - Weeping Willow
Drudkh - When Flames Turn into Ashes
Temnozor - Где Небес Лазурь Разрывает Сердца
Nasheim - Leda
Radiohead - Videotape
Nortt - Dod Og Borte
Warning - Bridges, Footprints
Candlemass - The Well Of Souls
Tyler Bates – Message For The Queen (soundtrack for 300)

Oh and any of the four songs off of Bloodbath's UTP EP.

Yeah, except Blasting the Virginborn, which is mad boring.

I second Hallowed Be Thy Name (not a fan of the "OR IS IT SOME CRAAAAZY DREAM?" bit, though, that's goofy).

Also, These Low Lands, the translated cover off of Swallow the Sun's Hope LP (with the dude from Amorphis helping out on vox) is awesome.

Way too many to mention that have come and gone, but here are some anyway.

Dream Theater - A Change of Seasons
Iron Maiden - Brave New World (Especially the heavy verses.)
Iron Maiden - Hallowed Be Thy Name (Favorite part is "If there's a god, why has he let me die?", fucking genius, and he sings it extremely well in particular. Also the riff is insane.)
Iron Maiden - Out of The Silent Planet (Love the verses, fucking great song.)
Evergrey - Unspeakable (So emotional. The song that really got me into them.)
Evergrey - Obedience (Again, really emotional, and one of their first song I liked.)
Evergrey - In The Wake Of The Weary (Sweeps me away and gives me shivers each time, such a fucking powerful song.)

Bathory - One Rode To Asa Bay, the ending scream and also sometimes the church bells
Amon Amarth - Without Fear (when it's all WITHOUT FEAR I DIE!!!), Runes To My Memory (chorus), Victorious March (when the verse comes in)
Dark Tranquility - Punish My Heaven
Metallica - No Remorse (intro solo)
Iron Maiden - Blood Brothers, The Thin Line Between Love And Hate, Paschendale (x 1000)
Vital Remains - Dechristianize (when the melody hits)
Savatage - Hall Of The Mountain King (my friends....)
and many more.

Tyler Bates – Message For The Queen (soundtrack for 300)

 That's awesome! When I first saw the scene where Dilios rides back to the queen and gives her the necklace, and that vocal melody rises as she looks up at him... I got chills too man. I know exactly what you're talking about. :headbang:

Amon Amarth -Runes To My Memory (chorus)

Fuck yes. That chorus is glorious.

I see that someone has an avatar of the latest AI! Well done mate!

There are many songs that send a shiver down my spine but I recall one special:

Arkhon Infaustus - M33 Constellation

:kickass: favorite band at the moment, M33 Constellation was the song that really got me into them. currently tryin to learn some of their songs on guitar by ear since theres no tabs, its a pain.
