Sort of new To Metal!

do your best to avoid Children Of Bodom...they are absolute shit

and get rid of the melodic power metal shit from your collection. its gay.

Hey i didnt mean to start shit, i just wanted to know whats out there.

also i didnt see the Recommendations Thread.

You can also look up what labels these bands are signed to and usually find Mp3s for download or listening at their respective sites.

You'll also find many of these same bands on MySpace.com where you can listen to them.

Good luck! :headbang:

IMO you should check out:

Megadeth - Rust in Peace, Peace Sells, Countdown to Extinction (I still need this album)
Children of Bodom - Hatebreeder, Follow the Reaper, Hate Crew Death Roll
Symphony X - The Divine Wings of Tragedy, V: New Mythology Suite, The Odyssey
Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime
Helloween - Keeper of the Seven Keys pt. I & II (I still need pt. II)
Blind Guardian - Tales From Twilight World, Nightfall in Middle Earth, Imaginations From the Other Side (I still need this album)

Just to name a few. Also, you gotta have all the classic Maiden, Priest, Sabbath, and Purple albums. And maybe Yngwie's first four albums (especially the first) if you want to get into neo classical metal.

The Jester Race is just as good as any metal out there regardless what you think. Whoracle, and Colony are solid also.

Don't listen to this moron.

Blinded By Loads!!!

ISIS ?

also, nu-metal sucks

try these bands:

High On Fire
Morbid Angel
Corrupted
Darkthrone
Eyehategod
Disembowelment
Napalm Death

Well im not sure if yall consider stuff like (older) Sevendust and Ill Nino Nu-metal

thats where i was getting at when i said i listen to a litte Nu Metal.

i don't know what the exact definition is.

I remember when I was 16 and just getting into "real" metal after growing out of nu metal... yeah there's a lot I have yet to discover but my musical tastes have evolved quite a bit since my nu metal days.

IMO all their shit sounds exactly the same as all Gothenburg, which in turn sounds the same

Most people on this forum don't like In Flames. I'm surprised no one's given you shit yet about it

Well i found that In Flames Thread and my experience with them has just been ruined ...

i don't know what to think now.
