the way the characters interact with each other is sometimes more interesting than the story arc, (especially when they're coppying a story-arc i've already seen in another sci-fi show/movie) i love the parts where Daniel Jackson says techno-speak stuff that O'neill doesn't understand, it's hilarious, those parts by themselves makes the show better than the movie
I'm a fan of the movie tho the show will always be a hit & miss to me......
I still dunno why, TV series based on epic films hardly ever gives me interest......
SG-1 was great because it didn't take itself too seriously. I hope they keep it a little tongue-in-cheek for the movie-the "corniness" some people have people have been complaining about is in my opinion what made sg-1 watchable, if it were entirely serious it just wouldn't be enjoyable. That's why Richard Dean Anderson carried the show so well.

+1
i love the way ben browder's character keeps saying things that Teal'c doesn't understand, it's an exact copy of how John Crighton kept saying things that D'Argo didn't understand, and it's still hilarious seeing the same running joke in another series
