Lou Reed still remains in the Metallica circle; it is rumored that Metallica lead guitarist, Kirk Hammet, will team up with Reed for a concept album that explores the dynamic range of his favorite electric guitar effect- the wah pedal. "The wah pedal is pure expression, much like Lou Reed’s voice. Everything on the album - percussion, vocals, guitars, bass - will go through a wah pedal."
They have a couple of early classics like Pleasures of Molestation and Left To Rot. Mid era works but it's still mostly just there, nothing spectacular. Catch 22 and after is mostly just a collection of homosexuality except Warpath.
There is some real intensity allover, I mean Weed out the Weak is fucking fast, but they mix in alot of slower parts and layer slower melodies ontop in every track.
But yeah I felt the same at release, my stubborness made me like it though.
I just don't get why people shit themselves when they write 58 versions of the standard "Eraser" type song. Extreme metal needs intensity and energy methinks.
