lol, yes this is true. I can't really defend Opeth much, I'm nowhere near a fanboi, I only listen to a handful of their songs. I pick and choose the good ones from each album and then the other 75% never get played.

Most prog is over-rated.

Honestly, except some single songs I just feel he can't structure a song at all. Occasionally though, like "The Moor" he gets it really right Well, yeah. At least Opeth doesn't have a musical wankery error in terms of technique. Rather in terms of overprogging it for prog's sake

The quiet parts appeal to me if placed well in the song structure. They don't appeal when the whole songs stops like CTRL+C CTRL+V between stuff like most newer Opeth.
