I found two youngs "tortola" (birds) under a tree next to a fallen nest. I hope they don´t die

When I was 15, me and a friend shot a bird with a beebee gun, we hit it right at the joint of his wing so he couldnt use it.
We felt bad and aimed a hot at his head like an inch away, expecting it to die. (We were in panic)
Of course it didnt die, insted it lost an eye, so we paniced even more and startet stomping it like you put out a cigarette.

I feel bad to this day.
