i saw a video for "wolves of winter" or some shitz last night (thank you digital cable) and it was pretty

I can see the "vocals are weak" perspective, but only if you're one of those guys who thinks all singers should sound like garbage disposals.

Nahhh. I'm a huge fan of clean vocals and it's the vocals that ruin this for me. I'm not questioning his technical ability. Haven't listened long enough to have an informed opinion on that, nor do I care to. However, his voice just ruins it for me.

I don't watch or read mainstream media, so to be honest, I didn't even know that Wolfmother were so popular.

I'd like to buy a shirt with their album cover art.

They're playing at the Reading Festival this year, so yeah, I guess they must be.

There's the unreleased full length as well, which is a real album, just a little raw. But that's not a bad thing, I just don't think it was ever mastered but it is complete.

I'll try to remember to upload them both for you later on. It takes like 14 hours to do such a thing, stupid ADSL.

Listened once, didn't do a great deal for me. At times it sounded pretty cool and at others highly annoying. I dunno.

To me, that Wolfmother channels pure Sabbath, right down to the vocals, at times. Even when they don't, I'm not hearing this White Stripes comparison.

Do you listen to The White Stripes? They're as close to that as they are Sabbath. Like I said, one listen but "pure Sabbath" never entered my mind.

Right, I'm totally hearing this comparison now. I am definitely digging this though, whereas what little I've heard of the White Stripes has just annoyed me. Am I wrong to assume the White Stripes aren't that good?

I'm not so sure about lasting appeal of this Wolfmother, methinks it will be hard to keep this in regular rotation while there are so many borderline amazing groups of this type right about now. But hey, my free CD-R is working out just fine for the time being.

Nah, The White Stripes are a decent band. Nothing outstanding or anything, but they've got some good shit.
