For years I have wanted to cover some Led Zeppelin songs.

"rock & roll" used to be untouchable for me back when i was 14 or 15. that song still kicks but i haven t listened to zep in years. i really wish that i woulda tried out maiden and priest back then. i got into sabbath and ozzy but completely ignored JP and IM for years. it wasn t until my 20 s that i began to discover the kind of bands that i listen to now.

I have heard the older someone gets heavyness is less important in music. Younger people generally listen to heavier music.

it's sort of the same reason why kids eat cereal with cardboard marshmallows and watch cartoons and ride their bikes downhill at 103 mph. cos kids are fucking stupid and they can only be entertained by being completely overwhlemed with a single simple idea.

but grownups can appreciate alt-country and imported cheese and movies about a guy who went to this place and talked to this one girl and then ate a bagel and shat and drove around with a small brown dog and punched a wall and then died.

That was the glorious part of being a kid. You could be entertained by a simple concept and you had an imagination and no fear. You could ride your bike down a hill through a road crossing with cars everywhere not even giving a shit if you hit a car. You could jump on a trampoline or play mini hockey 10 hours everyday along with video games,etc... I never liked hockey in generally but mini kitchen hockey with mini sticks was awsome.

I can think of so much fun stupid shit you could pass 24 hours with when really young.

Not giving a shit about anything was the greatest thing about being a kid indeed. "Hey this looks really high up" "YA, lets jump of it!" Good times.

While I appreciate the faux-irony, the ability to appreciate alt-country does not seem to be a trait I have accumulated. The film about the one guy? Yeah, but tbh I prefer Chow Yun Fat era John Woo flicks.

No, actually. My brother is getting pretty heavily into goregrind and grindcore as he gets older (after being infected wih hip-hop-itus for a couple of years), while my dad, who is now approaching 60 listens to Slough Feg, quite a fair bit of thrash and (admittedly selective) doom and doom/death.
