I just listened to the album Stronghold all through, I rate it pretty highly.

Does anyone know where they are from, and what do others think of them?

If you like "Stronghold" you can buy all albums except for the debut album "Lug Burz". It´s not comparably to the other recordings, netherthless I like it. It´s some really good Black Metal stuff.

Lugburz is my personal favorite. Still an amazingly different sound while still remaining entirely Black Metal. I found Trifixion's drumming to be quite interesting. Of course, everything they've put out following that has been very good as well. Particularly Minas Morgul and Dol Guldur.

Lugburz > Minas Morgul > Dol Guldur > Stronghold > Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame > Nightshade Forests

Granted, I view these very much more equally than this analysis suggests. In fact, I like the first four there almost equally.

Lugburz is a classic, and I am a little sad that they didn´t record a second album in that vein, even it surely had sound different after the split with Trifixion. Unfortunately his solo album isn´t that good also...
