This band still rules. I won't listen to them but every few months or so, but each time I do, I'm floored. Burning World, Love of Life, Great Annihilator, White Light, all essential.

Night Mare and I saw Gira solo about three months ago. Probably the most stunning live performance I've ever witnessed. The bloke is such a class act - funny, engaging, and totally bewilderingly crushing, all at once.

Well he played one very old Swans song that he'd reinterpreted for his acoustic guitar, and also Failure and God Damn the Sun, which were stunning. The majority of it was solo/Angels stuff though.
