V____= coninuous down stroke
^ = Upstroke

thats the best way to play it with tempo.
If you just sweep, then you will have to practice a lot for play it in tempo.

I don't know what kind of guitar you have but sweeps sound alot cleaner and full with the neck pickup. I very rarely use my neck pickup, what a waste of an 85 I just got used to the bridge, but I guess it's a good habit, think of this way, if you perfect your chops and sweeps on your bridge pup imagine how they will sound when you play on the neck bucker
