Symphony X's first ever concert

Jax- i can help you a lot with the tour history...PM me if you're interrested.

Also - Jax - that one off gig in NY/NJ could be an awesome addition to a fan club cd if there's any recording of it....right guys/gals?

One of my friends gave some links where I found Dressed To Kill and In The Dragon's Den from Tokyo with Thomas Miller in bass I guess. The title of the link says its 'Paradise Lost 2007 bonus dvd rip' ..I am not sure whether this show is Their first show or not

Thanks man, but I've already heard a bunch of stuff from that tour. This is more of an informational thing for me...You are very kind though

Its a pleasure. I am also looking for Their first ever gig...Hope this thread will show some light.

Don't quote me on this but I believe that I remember that Thomas Miller was the one holding the band back from doing live shows. He had some sort of condition where he would get nervous/have slight panic attacks on stage. If you find the pictures of the band playing live with Thomas Miller you will notice him with burning red cheeks and looking uncomfortable.

I really remembering reading this from somewhere but not sure if its accurate.

^I remember reading something like that as well. I just did a search and this is what I found:

http://www.enotes.com/topic/Thomas_Miller_(bassist)

It did list a reference for the quote, but it shows that it 404'd. I believe it may have been from the old SX website in the FAQs

EDIT: That link doesn't work for some reason when you click on it, so here's the quote from the site, from MJR:

I knew Tom for many years, and still I am not sure of the exact reasons. I can only guess from what we (the band) saw. On the first tour in Japan, Tom was very stressed about the situation of touring. There were several episodes where he became sick, had anxiety attacks, etc. Then there was the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which he claims he had...and was also getting into this religion thing. So all these added up and he eventually said " I can't do this anymore.". We have no bad feelings toward Tom, and I still find it hard to believe - that someone who I grew up with, played in numerous bands with, and was totally dedicated to music, somehow lost interest. Was it the fear of touring, sickness, or religion? I can not answer that question, only Tom knows why. But whatever it is that he is doing now, we wish him the best.

"this religion thing"

I don't think jesus would mind metal/touring. Must be sickness or whatever. Who cares, it was for the best anyway.

Roy Khan of Kamelot went through those exact symptoms just now, and as I recall, his final lines in the press release about his departure from the band were "god was there after all".

It happens.

Let's talk more about "Numerous bands"...Does anyone have more info about this?

^It probably just means that they jammed together in smaller bands before they got all the members of SX together, or something like that. Apparently he does have his own thing now, called Thunder's Majesty

If i´m not wrong there was a band named "Gemini" where Romeo used to play, wasn´t it??

Oh, and was also another band, named "Phantom´s Opera".

Maybe Miller played bass on those bands...

Does anyone have heard anything from this two bands? I remember I did found some music of Gemini, and if I´m not mixing up things it wasn´t prog, it was like heavy neoclassical glam metal, or something like that.

Gemini and PO are the same band and miller was not there..the album romeo is on is ok.nothing special.
I have also heard he played on DC Drive and Adrenalin, but after listening to the albums he's supposed to be in I doubt it...can someone confirm this?
Update: confirmed...there are 2 guitar players named michael romeo...what are the odds??

Yup..but this is freaky: same name same last name same instrument same year.
"our" MR is even credited on some big sites for the other MR's work..how weird

If it's just me by myself, then I'll get nervous, but if one or more people are with me, then I'm fine.
