SymX's PPUSA Setlist Poll

Symphony X will be playing a 90 minute set at ProgPowerUSA in September. If you could choose their setlist, what would it be? We've been able to get them to play songs at previous ProgPowers that they don't usually play, by mass vote..maybe we can do it again! To be safe, let's try & come up with 85 minutes of music..leave a few minutes for pauses between songs, & one or two of Russ' usual chats with the audience. Also, let's not figure more than 2 songs from the s/t cd into the setlist..IF they do play anything from it (and this is BY NO MEANS a guarantee that they will), odds are it'd only be one song..so let's not get greedy as far as that goes. Other than that..go crazy & let us see your setlist ideas! I've put the tracklistings for the cds on the web so you won't have to dig through your cds for song times..you can find the page at http://www.churchofthemachine.com/tracklist.html . Once it seems that everyone who's going to post their list has done so (after a week or two), we'll tabulate the results & present them to the band, & maybe we'll get lucky & they'll play a 'rare' song or two.

hmmm,,,.... reading your first post, Lady, i seem to understand that your looking for the "underdog" songs in there.

In that case, replace Evolution with the Turning (the 2nd most underated song after Orion-the hunter).
Replace Egypt with Death of Balance with another amazing Romeo solo in there (like in "Live on the edge of forever")

Unfortunately, I won't be there, but I'd love to see them bring out stuff they haven't done like A Fools Paradise, The Turning, and The Odyssey. From the first album I guess just Masquerade.

Not necessarily 'underdog songs', but more along the lines of the songs you always wish they'd play live, but they don't. Thus far, polls like this on the mailing list (where this was also posted) convinced them to play The Accolade at PPUSA1, & The Edge of Forever at PPUSA2, so this may be successful in getting them to play a rare live tune this year as well.

Oh, in that case, i have 3 choises
1) EYES OF MEDUSA - They just HAVE to play it!! It's my favourite SyX short song!!!! It should be hailed as a classic like Sea of Lies, Of sins & shaddows and Evolution of all the short songs!
2) Orion - the hunter - the most underated song EVA!
3) The turning - the 2nd most underated song EVA!
