System of a Down

I like Toxicity most. Their non-usual songwriting is really interesting, also they are great musicians. It´s cool to see that there a few more people that don´t give a shit about such labeling and enjoy the music without giving a shit about a name for the genre of the band!

I fucking love them. To tell you the truth they are the first 'metal' band I listened to. They pretty much sucked me in to listening to metal.

I'm surprised people call them metal. I don't hear any metal there whatsoever. Maybe it's just me.

Somewhere between alternative rock (given that alternative has a very different meaning these days to when it referred to grunge) and nu-metal (given that the term nu-metal is a misnoma).

I must admit I found certain moments on Toxicity interesting but overall there was nothing there to make me want to ever listen to it again. The title track was the highlight.

Well you obviously are the source of all that is wise and knowledgeable. You can throw together an argument without bringing in a single fact or supporting point. If we had more people like you in the world, less people would argue because they'd find brick walls more interesting than a person.

I don't need to.

I personally think Slayer is shit (now), but Emperor and Celtic Frost are good.

As for Opeth, if you are a fan just because of Ghost Reveries, then you did not get into them the right way IMO. (I like GR though)

But he said in general, he didn't say ALL shit music.

System of a Down are probably the most listenable of all the MTV metal bands I've heard so I'd rather listen to them than to anything else you could get from there. But in the end that's still like saying you'd rather be raped by a 6'6" black man than by a grizzly bear.

Why bother with something like this when there are so many truly good bands to listen to.
