Tabbing out SyX

*bump* I made another because I thought this one was archived for good. Well, back to the original.

I've been tabbing The Eyes Of Medusa and I mean to do "flawless" tab (worn off saying).

It's strange that nowadays I prefer to write the good old ASCII tabs instead of Guitar Pro ones. Maybe it's because now I can even play something so I don't need the "audio" anymore. And I noticed that after trying Earope for couple of days transcribing things got a bit easier. Not too easy, though.

In Romeo's really fast solos where he does that legato tapping stuff, does he actually plan out each note of those 10:8 or 7:6 (or similar) groupings of notes? Does he actually attempt to get them on the beat, or is too fast to even worry about?

of course he does not!
He just concentrate on the first note and the last one to be played on beat, trying to put all the other notes between them as accurate as he can

I reckon he probably takes time to write a lot of his solos, some of the initial ideas would probably come from improvising, but then I think he'd craft those together into a killer solo... Just my opinion, I'd like to hear MJR's...

It's not 100% like Romeo plays it but probably quite close. I tried to watch the video to estimate the fretboard area he's using.

And I agree with progmetalpilgrim. It sounds logical to me.
