Southern Alabama is an absolute shit hole btw. I refuse to go back to FL because I'd have to drive through southern AL and it's not worth it.

It's basically attached to Huntsville. I refuse to live anywhere else in Alabama. Madison and Huntsville are the only places up to date.

B) the KKK was founded in Pulaski, TN. A place I make an effort to avoid during any trip south of here.

C) I once went to downtown Montgomery. Aside from the four people in my party, there was not one other soul to be seen. Pretty wierd. Birmingham sucks too. I hate driving through it.

Just for the record, the North, specifically, Chicago, are the most segregated places on the planet. The South, in spite of the endless jokes from the rest of the country, happens to be among the most integrated regions of the US.
As far as backwater? Probably some places in LA but I've never been there, just heard stories from a friend who grew up there.
