bamboo is hollow, it makes good wind chimes, I cant see a way it could be laminated to make a solid neck, it would be a bunch of odd shaped, half round shells and the possibility of the surfaces mating to make a good laminant seem slim, then theres always the headstock
the problems with a live room are bad harmonics, this is why studios make dead rooms. Effects are added after a recording, and the extremely large choice of reverb effects cant be beat. They are also highly tunable so you just keep choosing and tuning until you get the best desired sound. Its never to late to add or remove effects so long as you have the master tracks. You can choose what instrument you want what effects on, ect. ect. ect. endless high quality possibilities
