No, child, no."

CDB fuckin' rules!...and yes I'm serious. :)

LMAO! Nice. That guy looks like he is going to have a heart attack at just about any given moment. They put on a hell of a show :D

Saw Weird Al last summer.

FUCKING AWESOME.

That man is a brilliant entertainer. Tons of costume changes, big video screens, stage props and antics, jokes with the crowd, running through the audience, lotsa great songs, and his band are top-notch musicians. And My Bologna get the hugest crowd reaction. It's amazing that a song recorded in a bathroom stall has become such a cult icon.

I highly recommend that if you've got a sense of humor, go see him perform. I'll see him every chance I get from now on.

What I heard from Weird Al seemed to be a little too much about the humor and a little too little about the music to be interesting to me. Maybe I should give it another try. Recommendations?

My recommendation is that you need to get a sense of humor. Listening to Weird Al for the musical talent is sort of like listening to Bill Hicks for his unique insight. It's definitely there, but if that's why you're listening, then you're fucked up.

Weird Al IS all about the humor. That's the whole reason he exists, and if that's not cool with you, then skip him. Beside the fact: his band is, in fact, highly talented, and able to play just about every style of music well. And, he's "progressive", in a sense... he's always incorporating new things, and his more recent albums are starting to feature longer and more complex songs (such as "Albequerque", from Running With Scissors).

Yep, he's a comedian, and he has a certain genius at writing funny parody lyrics that usually "work" perfectly. His Star Wars take-offs are fuckin' brilliant, just to pick an example.
