The all-time worst metal album according to you

Symbiotic in Theory solo (with the rhythm to the second solo) fucking SLAYS Fermented Offal Discharge solo.

Yngwie still has a hideous guitar though.

On an off-note, I fucking just remembered how much I love the improv solo stuffs at the end of the Philosopher with Andy/Chuck/Steve going off.

I think The River Dragon is a fucking awesome song. I also think that what one person may feel about one song doesn't necessarily mean it's factual, but the opposing opinion doesn't either. The River Dragon solo isn't the most technical of all solos, but if someone feels that's the greatest solo of all time, then that's his or her opinion.

I personally think Time by Pink Floyd is the greatest solo of all time, but if you ask all the guitar dorks who think that just because a song has shredding it makes it a better song, they'd probably disagree and call you all kinds of names. It's all a matter of opinion.

I personally think that Yngwie Malmsteen is boring as hell, no matter how fast and technical he may be. I'll take Nuno Bettencourt over Yngwie any day of the week.

If someone thinks a band is flawless, then IN THEIR OPINION, they are flawless. Let's not crucify people for their personal taste.

Yes. Before, it was all headbanging and moshing for me. Then I opened my eyes.

However, it also did something else; it made me revisit music that I loved when I was younger but didn't really "feel", for lack of a better word, such as Alice in Chains...maybe because I was just too young. Then I got consumed by AIC all over again.

I'd have to say that AIC affected me emotionally more than any other band. Metallica made me want to start playing guitar, while Megadeth made me want to play guitar better. But AIC owned my soul and still does to this day.

And another thing I have to get off my chest, I haven't listened to Nevermore since I saw them in Seattle.. maybe once or twice when in Laura's car. TGE was great for the first couple of months, but there wasn't really much relistening going on. DHIADW was good to listen to on the bus going to school to have people give me weird looks. the only cds I even bother to listen to anymore are DNB and POE... MAYBE In Memory, and once in a while the self-titled... and that's RARELY for any of it. I haven't been listening to much music anymore, so what do I know?

It's amazing the beating I got here when TGE first came out and I criticized it...seems like it hasn't stood the test of time, huh? Born, Final Product, My Acid Words...awesome...the rest is more of the same...I can never get through the entire album.

Time is one of my all time favorite solos.

Unfortunately if people weren't crucified for their personal tastes and opinions, there'd be practically no discussion here. I agree with you 100%.

Alice In Chains :kickass:

Whats your favorite song from them? Mine would probably be Heaven Beside You but its the first one I heard.

My favorite song from AIC is Would?. However, I'm a slave to most of their stuff anyway. We Die Young, Love, Hate, Love, Sunshine, Them Bones, Down in a Hole, Dirt, A Little Bitter, Again, Grind, Over Now, AND THE ENTIRE JAR OF FLIES ALBUM.

They can do no wrong, imo.

Absolutely! I worship them. I've got VERY mixed feelings about the new record. But as long as there's Jerry Cantrell, it'll probably end up being great.
