Start out with "THE PHANTOM AGONY" to me this is their best of the Two CDs they have out. Also ZOD go to www.wisdom.hu and check out this band from Hungary, i think you might like them. They are kinda Power Metal but different, its the vocalist that makes them so. also check out www.fragilevastness.com great progressive band from Greece.

THE DVD we will take you with us.. it's also great!

I am guessing the backup plan has to follow those guidelines. He said that if something changed we won't even know which means its gotta fit in.

Yeah I was hoping (in vein) that wasn't the case. :erk:

Hi Glenn,

Just wanted to remind you that Icarus Witch would be happy to come down to Atlanta & rock the Prog Power stage on behalf of the rising U.S. power metal scene. We've had such great response to the fans the past 2 years attending your event with the number one question being: "When is Icarus Witch going to play Prog Power?"

We've got radio playing Capture The Magic across North America, features coming in Brave Words, Metal Maniacs, Pit, Unrestrained, Explicitly Intense & more and a video & tour on the way, so 2006 will be a big year for the Witch.

Feel free to contact me any time: info@icaruswitch.com

Cheers,
Jason Myers

'no "reunions, solo projects, or one-off studio projects this year'
and
"Of the ten bands, zero are from the United States."
lead me to believe that there is little chance that Demons & Wizards would be on the schedule. Bummer.

Quite honestly I think of Epica as just a rehashed version of After Forever.
The part I most prefer is the Mark Jansen's grunting and he's the ex-After Forever guitarist/grunter who created Epica. Would much rather have After Forever over Epica even though Invisible Circles was a bit dissapointing as an album. However, I can't stand a song on Consign To Oblivion, Epica's newer album. It seems Simone Simons totally changed her way of singing and it went from being a nice touch to something I'd prefer not to hear. And Mark's grunting has all but dissapeared. I'd like Phantom Agony more if it didn't seem like they totally relied on the orchestration to create their sound. All the guitar parts sound the exact same from song to song.
Still, on anyday Estranged > any Epica song.

OPeth is just wrapping up Leg 1 of a US tour and will be doing another US tour in March. Opeth also had a headlining tour in support of Damnation.

Oh man, if Opeth were at PP I'd be in heaven. I love those guys so freakin' much it hurts! Same with Porcupine Tree.

Hmm, 7 of the bands are from Europe, wonder what the chances are???????????

Thinking one of the US debuts could be Cloudscape. They are set to start recording their second album with a spring/summer release date.

I forgot to include them on my list, I thought they would be there last year but weren't, so maybe this year.

I posted a comment, after last year's line up was announced, about hoping that Cloudscape would've gotten an invite. If I remember correct, Glenn posted something to the effect of - if he had known about them sooner they would have. So, that gives me hope for this year.
