the Australian Idol thread

I remember that Dan sang "Better". I will never forget how badly he butchered that song. I'm still not sure though whether it was his performance of "Higher" that got him kicked, or just the fact that he sang a Creed song. :)
He sucked though. What I thought was interesting this week is that three completely different people got the lowest votes, unlike last year when it seemed that at least one of the same group would always get the lowest votes.

Dan was pretty bad and deserved to go, but I remember his first audition I liked.

He was a sexy man though... that's what got him so far.

Anthony impressed me back when he did Hoobastank, so I want him around.

Emilia must go...

Courtney must win... followed by Casey, Chanel, and Marty.

And for a classical singer, Daniel Bell is pretty damn shit, when he hits a root note he does it so good with such awesome projection, but he can't link those notes for shit.

I loved it how the audience got in to every song apart from his. They all just sat there.

And while I'm on the topic of Australian Idol I found a picture of Andrew G from 2000 in an old copy of my Uni News mag, where he has long hair and was interviewing students around the campus for Channel V. Pretty funny.

That was kind of my point. I was prompting someone else to finish the sentence, because I couldn't do it.

Sometimes I have trouble getting my tone of voice across in the written word. CURSE YOU WRITTEN WORD!

In fact, I was listening to "Balls to Picasso" in the car this morning and was thinking that pretty much any song on there would be a great Idol song. It's just un-metal enough to be rock, and unmetalling it a bit more wouldn't be hard. And all the songs have a bit where he sings and then a bit where there are "big notes to win votes". Great album.

I don't know why I was thinking that.
