I think Nergal uses effects to a degree. I can't recall hearing other vocals harmonizing with it when the vocals sounded processed.

When I saw them live Nergals vocals sounded much more natural than the effect-laden studio sound on Demigod - I prefer the live/natural version honestly. Listening to his 'tween song banter and shouts for the crown to "go fucking crazy" or some similar business, one can clearly tell that his voice just isn't naturally that deep, which is probably why he uses the studio effects. But his vioce was effective live and as already noted often backed up by the others.

Good band... one of the better DM bands nowadays but not utterly mind-blowing or anything. Demigod is a sweet album.
