Hey dudes, im doing some research on metal my question is Do metal bands last longer then acts from other genres? if so,why and give good reasons and bad reasons,would be sweet as to hear your answers!

Metal is generally meant to be the antithesis of commercialised pop music (putting aside metalcore, nu metal etc.) so since the bands are not merely a passing fad, they gather a cult following.

genre =/= duration of band. some metal bands last 20+ years, some last less than a year. the same goes for non-metal bands
