The Children Of Bodom Gear Thread

In fact you should just drop the intellifex and go buy the MXR stereo chorus M-134 which alexi used on Relentless Reckless Forever, it splits your signal and has better chorus which is one of the few effects Alexi use nowadays.

I have pictures of this but nowhere to upload.

It would be cool if you could upload a couple of pictures :)

I have just these pics (uploaded with imageshack.us)...

WOW cool now I have the intellifex volume settings at least for that video, how did you get so clear images? Direct from DVD? Could never have seen that on the youtube vid.
The volume should be at: 11 o' clock on both input and output volume. The first effect which adds some stereo chorus delay. Awesome!

huh, good screen shot then! Clearly to see where Alexi painted the volume pointer black to hide it.

Alexi has not gainbooster in his guitar and is probably using either his Peavey 50 50 or ENGL 840/50 with a Boss SD-1 for boost (as on Tuska 2003).

which pictures do you have from his gp-1000 settings?
do you have a picture (or do you know the settings) from his SD-1? I think I used to have one...but I can`t find it atm :/

Well I have all the pictures of this thread and the other threads at this forum, furthermore it just to watch the tuska footage and do screenshots or the alexi documentary. All the settings are fairly alike except the documentary, try to figure it out yourself cause I really can't be sure.

The SD-1 is in photo's I've seen: Level and tone: 12 o' clock, and drive almost at full. (but that's only the Marshall KK photo's. There is one photo with it laying on the floor from the studio, can't remember the settings off that one).

but you say that the sound change from mono to stereo? thankss

The intellifex colors the sound a little bit, kind of a more rounded sound, but in order to get Alexi's sound from the equipment you need to modify the first gain stage cathode, the cap should be at 0.68uf and resistor at 825-830 ohms.
I don't have a clue how to do this, but a tech might. It will give the amp a little more gain and a more smoother sound, not as trebly and harsh.

found that pic with the SD-1 on the floor- but you can`t really see the settings..

But then again I only think he uses it for gainbooster so it probably would be the same settings except gain on full, cause that would be too much. Mitch can get his bodom sound by lowering the gain on modern effects units so gain isn't everything. And all Boss pedals would steal some tone and volume from the signal cause they're not true bypass.

dude I just gave it to you in a previous post in this thread. The first effect on the intellifex. #1: Welcome. (Alexi renamed his to "Punk Rock") I don't know the exact presets but tweak it out yourself. And both volume knobs at 11 o'clock.
