The concerts thread

Warbringer put on a great show last night for a pitifully small crowd. The turn out didn't seem to bother them though. Their new record is great and they played 3 or 4 songs from it. I really like Lazaarus A.D. but it seemed like they didn't really want to be there last night. I don't know if they were pissed with the poor turnout or what, but I got the feeling that they thought they were too good to play the venue. The openers, Landmine Marathon and Diamond Plate were also better than I expected.

Good shows for the rest of the month:
10/15 - Hallow's Eve Show - Mictlantecuhtli, Vehemence
10/20 - Brujeria
10/21 - Immolation and Jungle Rot then across town to see Testament and Death Angel
10/31 - Anvil

This is going to be fucking insane:

Their first time in Sao Paulo + small venue + great beer = epic gig. Damn it, can't fucking wait!

:kickass:

Black Flames of Blasphemy was awesome as expected. Behexen, Valkyrja, Mare, Pseudogod, One Tail, One Head, Mortuary Drape and Kadotus were great, Anal Blasphemy-show with stripper and all was just as filthy as their music, and Goatpenis-gig was a real rarity. Rotting Christ with their "old-school"-show was a bit of a disappointment, but still incredible festival once again.

Sounds like a :kickass: festival. I'd really like to see Behexen.

Sacrilegious Impalement, Satanic Warmaster and Impaled Fucking Nazarene here 2nd of December! And I thought concerts this year couldn't get any better.

Just got ticket for MORBID FUCKING ANGEL on 22nd November in London. Can't recall them doing a UK tour in a very long time, pretty damn excited for it. Also Necrophobic are supporting too which is the icing on the already very delicious cake.

Saw Enslaved and Alcest tonight. Alcest were a little inconsistent. The songs off "Écailles De Lune" sounded excellent while the songs off "Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde" weren't as strong live. Overall a solid set. Some people from the venue brought out wine and cheese in the middle of the set, which I though was funny, but obviously Neige did not.

Enslaved tore it up. They had a ton of energy and played a really wide array of stuff, going all the way back to "Víkínglígr Veldí". However, the crowd was fucking horrible. You would think they weren't even fans. It was seriously awkward at times, like before the encore it was like the fans just expected the band to come back out and didn't even feel the need to applaud or cheer. I can't wait to leave LA. What a soulless city.

Saw Immortal last night, great show. Fucking loud also.

This is the setlist (pretty damn good if you ask me):

1 - All Shall Fall
2 - Sons of Northern Darkness
3 - The Rise of Darkness
4 - Damned in Black
5 - Triumph
6 - In my Kingdom Cold
7 - Tyrants
8 - The Call of the Wintermoon
9 - Beyond the North Waves
10 - Battles in the North
11 - Blashyrkh (Mighty Ravendark)

Encore
12 - Withstand the Fall of Time
13 - One by One
14 - The Sun no Longer Rises

Saw Opeth and Katatonia tonight. Was somewhat surprised that Opeth didn't play any songs with growls. Looks like they really are transitioning out of the metal scene. Good set none-the-less.

On the flip side, Katatonia played two songs from Dance of December Souls at the end of their set.

^ I just went and saw them last night in Pomona. If it wasnt for Katatonia, I probably wouldve murdered someone last night from the rage that was beset in me from Opeth's song selection, performance, and overall lack of balls. I can manage to hear one of their slower songs every once in awhile live; it gives me time to get a beer and take a piss. But the whole fucking set? Are you kidding me?

That was hands down the worst show Ive been to. I am ashamed I spent money to support such a bullshit show, but even furthermore that I call myself an Opeth fan. They have lost my support.

Didn't know you were there too, haha. But yeah, I was pretty disappointed with Opeth, and somewhat with Katatonia too. The lighting sucked too, from a photographers standpoint, but I haven't finished going through everything...

I was also disappointed with Katatonia's set. All songs were off the past two albums, and Omerta off of Viva Emptiness, and nothing else? After reading about other shows getting Without God and Murder, wtf?

Yeah I hear ya buddy. I was in the way back so I didnt care too much about the lighting, I was too busy doing this :kickass: lol

I was pleased with Katatonia's song selection. I love everything theyve done, old or new, so every song they played I was jammin pretty hard. (BTW, they played Evidence which is also off Viva Emptiness) :)

They did a lot off The Great Cold Distance which fucking ruled, but yeah, I wouldve lost my shit if they wouldve played Without God or Murder lol

I wanted to hear a mixture, maybe some stuff off Last Fair Deal Gone Down, or Tonights Decision, but overall I was satisfied. :)

Ah, I was taking photos in the photopit, and then was in the general pit after.

And oh right, Evidence is off of that album. I enjoy all the TGCD stuff, but I've seen every song they performed played before, haha. And I don't like the new album, either. I was lucky enough to see Murder when they headlined a few years ago back in Chicago, and was pretty excited when I heard they were playing both that and Without God and a few shows, but that wasn't the case. Woulda been amazing to see one of their off-dates when they played LFDGD in full...

Saw Jungle Rot and Immolation Friday night. Both bands were really impressive, but Jungle Rot cut their set short due to technical problems.(Bad sound guy at the venue) I then went and saw Death Angel. They put on a really good show, but I think they were trying to end the show early, the drummer broke two snare heads during the show.

Saw Judas Priest with Black Label Society and Thin Lizzy last night. Priest put on an awesome show, but I was disappointed that they didn't play Exciter.
