Which 2 guitar line up might that be? Because Adrian and Janick both contribute a whole lot to the band, and by getting rid of one of them it would probably take alot away from Maiden as a unit.

Janick can't leave because he's the best songwriter in the band. Adrian can't leave because he rules. Davey... well, I can take or leave Davey, he's never really done anything for me so I don't really care either way.

Dave doesn't do too much, but when he contributes to a song it is usually pretty good. I don't think he has too many bellow par songs to his name. His playing is great too, the solo he does in the live version of Tailgunner I have is AWESOME.

I have a strong preference for the Smith/Murray lineup, the one that produced SIT and SSOASS.........though I have nothing against janick as a player.

I wouldn't leave Dave and Janick together again. Dave gets sloppy with Janick (that sounds a bit rude!), but I can't see Adrian getting sloppy if he's left alone with Janick (that sounds a bit rude too!).

I wouldn't ditch Janick after what he has done, keeps doing, and will continue to do for the band. I don't see a problem with keeping all three guys on board, they do a great job!

I just think they sound, at least on album, a bit 'muddy' with three guitars........two guitarists played on their best three or four albums (SIT, SSOASS, POM, and Powerslave), IMO, so I can't see why three is necessary, except for a bit of ego saving.

I don't think DoD sounds muddy at all. BNW did a bit, but DoD sounds great IMO.

A good producer would make 3 guitars sound good.

yeah you're probably right. I didn't really like BNW production either - to my ears, it ranks with NPFTD in terms of shitty sound - and so far, at least, DoD is the same. BNW sounded a little more crisp to me........but I may have a different opinion in a day or two.

I am finding that too........I like 'Journeyman' quite a bit too, though it does sound a bit like an out-take from AOB - but to me that's a good thing.

I like Wildest Dreams more and more every time I hear it. It's the sort of song you listen to first thing in the morning to get you pumped up for the day ahead! !!!

I'm really starting to dig Face In The Sand, and yesterday I realised that most of the tracks that Adrian co-wrote are among my favourites. !!

Songs that are pretty good:
No More Lies
Journeyman
Dance Of Death

Songs that I'm not sure about :
Age Of Innocence
Rainmaker

I don't dislike these last two, they just dont do anything for me, but maybe in time they will.
