Below is a quote from 'Madre Muerte' on Diocletian cancelling their Detroit show:
"We are extremely displeased to announce that the Diocletian show will no longer be happening in Detroit. In order to dispel some of the rumors surrounding the re-routing of the tour, here is our official statement:
As many of you know, there has been some friction between a local metro-Detroit band and the New Zealand band Diocletian. While the animosity has been very one-sided, we cannot deny these speculations. Many not-so-thinly-veiled violent threats had been directed at Diocletian and Madre Muerte booking. You may have also seen facebook hate pages and insulting posts directed at bands such as Diocletian, Kommandant, Blasphemy, and various people from the Detroit metal community. While we felt that there was no true threat to the show, we still offered to take every security measure in our power to ensure the safety of our supporters and the bands. We had even contacted the band asking them to cease, to no avail. Despite our efforts, Diocletian's management has decided it would be unwise to continue with the Detroit show. This decision is out of our hands. It is unfortunate that a local band would go so far to sabotage a Madre Muerte show, one of the few businesses booking underground metal in the area."
