I'm mildly fascinated by the rapid decline of this large American city. Here's some good links the wife sent me recently. My favorite is the one about the hospital...I can't find any more info on it though. It's just a completely abandoned hospital in the middle of a metropolis and no one seems to care. I don't think the dates mentioned in the article are accurate though. Some of the equipment is hella old. Yet, the boxes of needles are of a fairly recent vintage. It suppose it really could've been abandonded in 2007 like the author claims and just maybe they had a bunch of outdated shit equipment. I say we go find out for ourselves!

Post interesting links here

wait ... is that the hospital from The Walking Dead pilot? sure looks like it

I seriously want to go to Detroit as well. probably so I can feel better about myself.

i love this stuff, thanx for the links

if i wasn't such a pussy i would probably be doing urban exploration and taking pretty bad ass photos

but almost nothing is abandoned round these parts, just old wooden houses rotting in forests, no huge industrial complexes or hospitals

No problem. Glad you enjoy it.
I love to think about how there was an entire culture built around ONE thing - automobiles. And no one bothered/cared to think that one day there might be some competition. And even when that day came, they still didn't care

we're going to see a whole lot more of this sort of thing, too

every industrial town in the usa and europe is going to be a fallout-esque wasteland before long

as long as i don't have to live in them i'm a-ok with their aesthetics

There should be a lot of empty stuff left over from STÅLVERK 80, the big project to build a steel foundry in Luleå. It was never built, but everything else around it was, and was abandoned.
