I still remember waiting for POT to come out! My father drove me to the mall so I could buy it on cassette. I played it on the way home even though I knew he couldn't stand it lol . Just the way 'Time' started off at that time. I was thinking 'holy mother of fuck' this is awesome!

The first time listening to the clock intro & then fininshing Time..the first time, sealed my believe there & then..ANTHRAX is THE BEST!!
wELL..the first time i heard the song, i cant make head or tail what the heck they are talking about..all the FUCK this FUCK that, candy colored clown, love letter & stuffs..knowing it was based on Blue Velvet & watching the movie made me appreciate the song more..Yeah its about how they wrote the song..nothing related to Joey's saying the word personally..heheh

I never understood why they didn't like it.. Be All End All, Anti Social, Now it's Dark and Schism are someof my favorite Anthrax tunes.. That is the skin I chose for this site too
the only reason they hate on that album so much is because there image backfired and got alot of bad press for it,there just trying to distance themselves from that era.

Pretty much the same story as mine. I waited for POT to come out, got the cassette and that clock ticking at the beginning and then into TIME which is one of my favorite Anthrax songs ever. POT is a masterpiece. it was 'different' sounding than the previous material but was still heavy and thrashy. it shows that there are certainly ways to stay thrash and not have to change to hard rock in order to 'evolve'
Then out came SOWN and that was when i knew it was all over for anTHRASH

I finally listened to the whole thing. Not bad. I would say 6.5 of 10. Certainly not thrash, but a decent metal tune.
Meh, 6.5 is a good rating for that song. Actually this song could as well be on the Damned Things record.

SOE is probably my second or third favorite Thrax album. The song writing on that album is up there with POT or ATL. The only song off that album I dread hearing is Antisocial--just sick of it perhaps. But as most others have said the production sucks. Had Anthrax not gone off on tour and actually took their time with Alex I think it would have been an epic record.
Thats what i have been saying all along. But I guess most people on here think it sounds like a great thrash metal tune like caught in a mosh. i don't get it. but to each their own.

If you're going to whine about the direction Anthrax is going, just take Milano's advice:
"Lots of good bands out there! pick several and have at it!"
Some advice from me....>> SOWN, STOMP, Vol.8, WCFYA...these are on CD (I like these myself) so you can listen to them all day long if ya want

Thanks for the advice - you forgot the great live stuff Anthrax did with John Bush....that covered all the eras of the band...

I know, I was just thinking of the studio albums.
No you don't get it, It sounds like an Anthrax song to me. Does have elements of Caught.. in the verses with the drums.
