In the same vein as Wolff's Orchid post, lets do the same for Morningrise.

As I listen, the first thing that always hits me is the atmosphere of Swano's production.

yes the dark atmosphere hits me. i think of the forests around here.... its cool. espicially late and night when im driving around and have the album on. the album is so beautiful!

"We Survey the Scooooooooooooooooopes" In Advent, most goosebumps I ever get from any song at that point.
Nectar is very nostalgic song for me, it was one of the first Opeth songs I heard, I played it over and over and over and over and over again out in the woods at my cabin. Everytime I play that song it just takes me back to sitting in the woods looking at the stars. What is the song about anyways?
Black Rose Immortal is an amazing song, but it is very choppy, and could have been done better I think.
To Bid You Farewell...............

TBYF is a damn good, mellow song. But I'll have to put The Night and the Silent Water as my favorite. Great intro. The whole track gives me a feeling that I can't describe.

Advent, actually, feels pretty similar to some of the Orchid tracks, with the epic feel.

Nectar: I feel it's been "overplayed." It's on every compilation that has an Opeth track, and it's the worst track on the album.

Black Rose Immortal: Possibly the best track title by Opeth. Frankly, it makes me think of the rose in Beauty and the Beast, but black instead of red. But, this was my first song over 14 minutes, and it fits together so well, flows (even if it does break twice in the middle).

I'd be able to say more, but I haven't listened to it for a few weeks.

I also love the almost Irsish inspired guitar riff...you know the one I'm talking about!;)
and the "eyes attached..." part is just haunting...almost 6 years from first hearing it and that part is still intensely eerie...

We survey the slopes.

scoopes?

hmm...

Love the album.

It seems to lack the diversity of Orchid though. But the atmosphere is great, and the music is further evolved. The lyrics are amaizing. Advent is such a good intro to, it kinda sums up the album, lets us know what goodies we are in store for..

BRI needs no explanation.. And the rest rocks..

Annyway.. back to ff9.

Nectar was the first song I heard and immediatly fell in love. Opeth were just about my favorite band after only hearing Nectar on the Blackened II compilation.
