The Gaming Thread

mid level saving is kinda lame, ive been playing through final fantasy 4 and i forgot how hard games used to be...the last level, pretty much every common enemy has a trick that if you dont know it.....they'll destroy you in no time.

and also, there is no save before the last boss, he obliterated me. switched back to xenogears for a bit

Just bought Total War: Shogun 2...god damn this game is complex. Still getting grasps on the deep battle system too, anyone else play this? I know there is a crazy multiplayer too it but it's all still mind fucking me all I have to learn already so I haven't tried it out yet.

^i have the demo but havent tried it, really wanted to though, never played a total war before but it looks amazing

and yeah, im just rescuing margeret while fei is in the tournament, and i am only just now starting to understand how complex and amazing this is going to get. i already love the charecter development in xenogears. i also love the graphics, it reminds me of a more 3d suikoden, and i loved suikoden 1s graphics, but then again i love the snes too ahaha

That's the rewarding thing about a game with no mid-level saving, you have to master the level and make it your bitch to win. Makes me wish that quick save was never invented, it takes all the fun out of completing a hard level.

^The thing with quicksave, autosave etc., is that it appeals to young children, where older people rather wants both the challenge and fun than only the fun in a game. But since more children plays games now then the developers make it that way.. A shame indeed

or maybe it's because not everyone have time to play games for hours on end ;) if you don't want to use quick save, then don't - problem solved.

^i know, fuckin hackers, fucking over the only people who would possibly support them to demand back items that nobody cares about

also, quicksave.....sometimes they force you, your game just updates :(
