The Gaming Thread

I never had issues with it online as far as latency goes. I'll gladly reinstall if there is a skirmish to be had.

 1v1v1

thats funny, i mostly play against the computer also. im not the kind of RTS player who builds 10000 hatcheries and spawns people, i just spawn my favorite guys, make a few bases and go at it :p

Yeah me too! When I play against my older brother on LAN, he is exactly the kind of person who makes a trillion bases and a quadrillion men, and that is why he wins all the time!
I like it when I just have, say one barracks and then that is it! One barracks, one battalion of men, okay maybe also some siege weapons, cannons maybe. But that is it! One battalion with a few cannons. Otherwise it ruins all the fun, I like that playstyle much better than when I did the campaigns in which you have to manage a ton of men... Also, when playing online I sometimes met players who were crazy at the game and could win in maybe 20 minutes with at least one hundred men and siege weapons and it's goddamn crazy, I can't do anything about it!

You've made me want to play AoE again :p

CRYSIS pro gaming clan elite wooooooooooooo

Aside from that:

Starcraft 2
Supreme Commander 2
Half life 2 deathmatch

I am a bronze Zerg player, lol.

Hehe 20 minutes is a long victory. My average win time in AoM was 6 minutes, AoE 3 was 9 minutes XD.

9 minutes? That's damn fast. Who were you playing against? I mean, if it was against the computer on easy, then it's no problem... But like, on hard for example that's pretty fucked up fast. I think the fastest I've ever been to advance to age 2 is like 5 or 6 minutes.

see powerblade im like you, i usually build one or two barracks and start producing guys, build up a wall and a castle. i like a long match like that hahaha, 9 minutes is just .......like the call of duty of RTS games. spawn death switch games, spawn etc

now i gotta track down my AoE disk haha

dead space 2 was on sale yesterday on steam (and for the next hour), picked it up for 24$ :)

People online and hard computers, I quick boomed as the brits, raided resources constantly with calvary and then brought an army in on their crippled economy. In age of myth I had it down to being able to topple two hard computers in <10 minutes as well.

Yeah I like that more too :p

Yep, and today (now, 50 minutes ago) the sale on Battlefield and Medal of Honour started! FUCK YEAH!!!!! :D

Whoa yeah that's just madness. I can't say I play enough to be able to do that :p
The only way I could beat a hard computer is by the Brittish rush tactic

haha im thinking medal of honor isnt worth it, but bad company 2, ive put like 129 hours into that game, i completely love it :D, and at 6.89$ it's a steal

i got vietnam too, might pick up the DLC costumes, just for fun :)

^Yeah I'm not gonna get any of those games. I don't like the look of BF2, it just looks like yet another online FPS

Battlefield is great and actually does new things with the formula, unlike CoD. The new Medal Of Honor on the other hand was probably the most mediocre shooter in the last 5 years.

Because while it was great for years only the most stagnant gamers would consider it relevant right now past influence.

Apparently it is STILL the most online played fps today. Beaten by quake live from time to time, but then quake is from the same era as well. So...

Source tends to top it, and thats 1) Only including Steam calculations, and 2)not counting any console shooters (which like it or not is where the large majority of people play shooters these days)

Past the fact that overall it falls far short of the most played FPS if you count all online fps outlets, it hasn't done anything new for around 6 years, it simply isn't relevant anymore. I get it, it was a great game, I played in CAL back in the day and dropped out shortly after source reared its ugly head, but seriously let go of it
