The Gaming Thread

I finally got a chance to sit down and focus on Dark Souls.

It. Is. Exquisite. The definition of Pyrrhic Victory
It's going to be my game of the year I think.

I'll describe one of the more devilish situations I found myself in earlier today. I found a number of keys that lead through a series of basement doors to a place simply called "Depths," and started to wander around. Carefully. After killing a bunch of base enemies, I found a hole in the ground opposite a staircase. I cast a prism stone into the hole to see how deep it was to ensure I would survive the drop (which is the coolest thing ever) and after decided that I needed to stop thinking about the staircase and sack up, I dropped in.

I ended up in a sewer staring down an enormous rat, found some loot and eventually a staircase. I started to descend, and dropped into a pit in the ground that I hadn't seen, which thrust me deeper into the sewer. I spent the next hour trying to find sunlight and couldn't.

One of the most tense video games I've ever played...I love it.

awesome, sounds even more tense than the first! i loved how you were always fearing death.

although im demons souls, if you died and immediately shutdown the system, you could usually avoid the soul loss punishment. i tried to do this as little as possible, it was annoying to have to turn off and wait all that time to turn back on. but good for when you die with a million souls .

cant wait to get this, if it doesnt come tomorrow i will be sad, and if it doesnt come friday i will be very sad because its a long weekend :(

Lol, I remembered that handy shortcut when I accidently attacked some NPC in my game...they fixed it lol. I turned my game back on, and I was standing in front of the guy who started to attack me immediately.

This is more tense, more unforgiving game...you'll love it ^_^

I'm stuck in some sort of underground cavern far beneath the sewers I mentioned earlier...and everything carries some sort of really intense poison.

I had to take a break:erk:

 yeah portal 2, the reason i signed up for steam in the first place is because at the time they were giving away free copies of portal for signing up.

played through a couple levels so far, seems even more fun than the first (ie i play it for like 5 hours and then continue my playthrough like 4 months later)
