The Gaming Thread

Dude, Dark Forces 2, been a while since I played that. I didn't like it quite as much as everyone else but it was good. I preferred Jedi Knight 2 personally, I miss good light saber games, I hope Force Unleashed 2 is good.

What game is th top picture? It looks like Bioshock but it's not underwater. Singularity?

Dark Forces 2 was the first game I extensively modded / hacked back in the day. Also the first game I widely played online...I still feel like despite being able to build in crazy force powers to your multi player characters in an early multiplayer game, they balanced it amazingly well. Biggest piece of gaming nostalgia for me personally. Heck, I'm still remember setting up direct IP connection games over 28.8k connections XD. I'm sure I will enjoy the force unleashed 2, but it will be a simple gamefly rent, nothing more.

Yar first pic is singularity. The game isnt bad at all, though I'm pretty sure i've spotted at least 4 plot holes thus far.

Catacylsm will mean nothing once Bioware unleashes the new star wars MMO in 2011. Actually who am I kidding? WoW needs to fade out, as no game is going to be a 'WoW killer.' Maybe the combination of Diablo 3's release plus other big MMO's coming out will put it on its downward spiral?

It was not never supposed to have no expansion?

yes, when they announced wow they said they wouldn't be making any expansions, just updating the world as they progressed :p

lol wat? yours too? mine is isolation_years :), at least i think it is

haha, yes :D i usually use isolation years or hours of wealth instead of darkgift if it's already taken, or if it's too short etc

Oh... Didn't know that... It would seem logical as you pay those 12-14 euro per month, because they update it... And now I have to pay 40 euro for Cataclysm... Fakkin greedy fakks :p

I remember someone on a different board posting a photo of a blizzard meeting/presentation where they had a screen with a list of priority games. At the top of that list was WoW, then some other games, then a "new MMO", and at the bottom of the list was something like "In the next few years...Diablo III". I was very disappointed indeed.

Yeah I think I saw that one too, I have played Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, but not any of the other Diablo games really, and I must admit it was quite shitty graphics, yet still fun for an hour maybe :p I think I might be buying Diablo III actually :)

But yeah, WoW is their biggest income so of course that is their first priority...

Yeah obviously. But I wasn't expecting them to leave Diablo III for a few years down the line since they've released quite a bit of material regarding the game, and I believe I saw one or two release dates here and there, but of course they weren't true :p

Weren't shitty graphics for a dungeon crawler back in the day =/

I know that, but I wouldn't play it now... I need just somewhat good graphics :)

A game takes a looooooong time to make :( But yeah can't really believe any release dates to be true, unless the producer/company says that it is true, or release it themselves...

Blizzard is perhaps the most notorious developer for having projects take 6 years longer than expected to come out, that said their games are always solid.

In-fakking-deed! They definitely are solid.. I mean, The Burning Crusade was 1-1½ years late, and so was Wrath of the Lich King... Good games though, I saw just now that they said on www.wow-europe.com, that they have passed 12 million players in WoW!!
