The Gaming Thread

They found the right path because the movie has everything to do with the fantasy game. Pathfinder Beginner box set.

I got to say man, that was short for even for a beginner box set. I've played free demos that were more lengthy than that 2 hour, non interactive venture.

well this is coming from a guy who really does not like online shooters. COD was ok for a bit, and everything else just didnt feel as good as the single player for me.

but this, frig, it has anything you could want, smaller infantry levels, large epic war levels, squads to work together with (more than youd expect, a good squad can annihilate). the graphics are spectacular. i mean everything has its faults right, i find the IR scope severly overpowered, and tanks take a lot of hits from rocket launchers to go down (1-2 mines or 3-4 rockets, or half that on hardcore). attacking on rush (basicly arming bombs in enemy base) is usually more difficult then defend.

but one thing i like, is you can be effective with almost anything, want to be a sniper, hang back from your squad and spot for them, create a mobile spawn point etc, or equip a shotgun for a close range beast. support has huge machine guns and ammo crates, and their claymores make great traps. assault has insanely good rifles (everything has like 7 scopes and a ton of stuff to unlock, even vehicles unlock new weapons and advantages like stealth) and can revive/drop medpacks for teammates (gets a good amount of points). engineers can place mines, fire rockets, repair tanks.

i feel like a comparison to perfect dark may have been a bit much since they are quite different (although there are a lot of unlockables), but i suppose i meant in terms of enjoyability and lasting appeal.

EDIT: origin is a piece of shit though, it doesnt affect the game itself, its just the fact that it requires a shitty version of steam that erks me. just out of principle i wont buy any other game on there, mostly because i dont want to have steam and origin running just so i can play my games (because they would be so distributed among distribution systems)
battlelog is run through your browser, which makes it sound more like battlefacebook, but once you get used to it it is actually quite well done.

TLDR: its great, i have 41 hours put into it since release (two weeks ago)
