heavy metal rules and shit but i was thinking about how there really has been some awful vocalists over the years. what are some of the singers yall think are perticularly awful?

my pick is that DiAnno charactor who was iron maidens first vocalist. its funny how iron maiden has had one of hte very best singers ever and two of the very worst ones.

also, diamond heads singer comes to mind. this guy is even worse than DiAnno. i heard this metallica bootleg where they got the singer of diamond head to sing am i evil and i swear he sounds just like a goat.

Johaan Liva (sp?), first vocalist for Arch Enemy was bloody atrocious. Couldn't breathe properly at all.

Anders Friden. I'd rather listen to Jonathan Davis, no joke.

only two offhand I can think of.

Paul DiAnno is awesome. You must be on crack.

My least favorite singers:

singer of Korn
singer of In Flames
singer of Vio-Lence
singer of Cradle of Filth
singer of Six Feet Under
singer of the Used
singer of Demilich
singer of Hoobastank
singer of Deicide
singer of the Murderdolls
whiny singer of Blink 182
old singer of Helloween
newer singers of Mayhem
older singers of Iced Earth
singer of Goatwhore

I think DiAnno is way better than Dickinson.

Well heres my hated singers:

Joacim Cans of Hammerfall makes me feel sick. I hate those vocalists who sing without any power, and I hate Hammerfall as a band so hes an obvious choice.

Andi Deris of Helloween is also terrible. I cant listen to Helloween without Kiske.

Anders Fridens clean vocs on Reroute To Remain, and all his vocals on Soundtrack; including the "aggressive" ones.

The new Killswitch Engage singer is way weaker than the one who sang on AoJB, at least when it comes to the clean vocs.

As for the mallcore-ish bands, I cant stand the singers of Korn, Mudvayne or Murderdolls.

Agree with that one, Timmo Kottipelto is another example

Mudvayne's singer is awesome. You cracko.

Timo Tolkki was a much more "real" vocalist than Kotipelto.

Matt Barlow sucks.

has anders always been the singer for InFlames? if so, he sounds a lot different on some songs, especially episode 666. i personaly dont like
all the pop-punk whiny ass vox
lord worm
fuck im too high to think of anybody else right now ill come back to this later

Dude, Matt barlow fucking rocks man, the guy might not have the widest range but he has fucking balls. What's all this DiAnno talk? He fucking rocked it with maiden, I actually prefer him to Bruce b/c Dickonsons' vocals are so played out.
you guys wanna here some of the worst metal vocals in you life, plus have one of the best laughs

DL their Mp3, dragon head. it fucking great.

PS - Mustaine is a horrible singer but you know what, his vocals is an aquired taste and after a while you grow to like him.

Mudvayne's "singer" fucking blows. He sounds like a thirteen year old brat who's constantly angry because someone caught him shoplifting cheese.
Give me the lunatic ravings of Serj Tankian over him any day.

Oh, and I nominate Glen Benton for his monosyllabic innovation. Hopefully one of these days a nobleman will run him over in a forklift and then douse his corpse with the runny feces of a malnourished child.

Arguing about something which is usually down to aesthetic preference (if only because a lot of people here are too stupid to appreciate the compositional value of vocals) =

VIo Lence's singer is god awful, as is Overkill's, and Forbidden's.

James Labrie is the worst I have ever heard, If one wishes to use noise and music as a weapon, putting that mans singing on, would lead to me to confess to any crime to get it to stop.

Oh one more, Rob Tyrant from Labyrinth a Italian Power metal band, the guy thinks he is a opera vocalist, but has neither the talent nor the range, it is cringe inducing listening to him sing.

Or hate him. More. And then even more. And it increases every day, until all you want to do is smash him around the face with a broken wine bottle.
