also, "Chrysalid Of A Star" or "Claustrophobic Heaven" by Fields Of Jena are rather depressing

It's weird how sentenced became melancholic even though the band was originally kinda depressing for a DM band. Amok is the total opposite of that, you can hear the band in a more uplifting rocking form. 'North From Here' shows the band in a more dominate form also.

Evoken - Tragedy Eternal,Chime The Centuries End,Lost Kingdom Of Darkness

The piano sections in lost kindom of darkness and tragedy eternal over the riffs really hit me within my soul. These three songs are easily some of my favorite songs period.

Katatonia - brave

The intro riff that repeats again in the song twice around 7/8 minutes is one of my favorite riffs. Very depressing but moving song.
