EDIT: Discovered that you had to use a SUPERTRICK to get it to work. And it did.

Here's an effort I did to cover all of 'Madrigal' one of my favourite interludes. I know that I did the delay settings on the start wrong and that the swell guitars are too loud, but I still think it was a fairly decent effort, since I'd learned the thing in 10 mins, then recorded it in another 20.

(as always, copy and paste into your browser window, because Geocities don't like external links)

PS. Great stuff so far guys.

hoe the hell did u get that fat tone on benighted ernie? is that u mic'ing ur amp or some kind of POD?

Actually I think my tone is pretty flat on that one... I just mic'ed my acoustic guitar with a vocal mic at about 3 feet from the guitar. I had my amp turned on, but no mic in front. I recently discovered that mic'ing both give a better sound, as you can hear at the end of my Demon of the Fall track. The sound on Benighted is buffed by warm reverb and delay.

The first thread used to be a record-an-opeth-riff-or-something-else thread so I will assume I can post some Slayer shit here :D

This one is by far my best work up to this day.

BTW : I used a Shure SM58 on the left channel and a 10$ mic on the right. I cant tell which I prefer :err:
