Liberalism consistently promotes the individual over the collective.

Not in the Untied States it doesnt. Its literally the opposite, and i thought you'd be one of the last people here id need to tell this to.

Liberals=groupthink

Again, you guys need to stop mixing up the liberals of today here stateside, who arent even TRUE liberals btw, with liberalism in other places and other times.

Everything in America is a retarded version of something else it seems.

But yes I'm aware that it doesn't go for American liberals (so-called liberals) though it certainly does go for the American constitution. Perhaps the most perfected example of liberalism in history.

Possibly the most perfect example of virtue signalling is pulling down statues and pretending like it's helping anybody or anything.

Like that guy in the video said, at least the monument brings some tourism to the area that can be utilized by local businesses.
But these historically illiterate turds are just so obsessively, absolutely wrapped up in symbolism.

It's a fucking statue and people make the comparison to Jews living in a neighborhood with statues of Adolf Hitler, as if that is an even remotely similar comparison.

LOL you somehow got the impression I'm divorced? Even if I were, I would echo TBs sentiment. You overrate your knowledge of UM posters, other cultures, logic, and apparently bluecollarness (since you think somehow I'm ivory tower). I'm not going to engage you in nuanced arguments when you lack fundamental understanding of the topics you engage in which could be rectified by a perusal of wikipedia.

Wow I am totally blowing it these days, I could have sworn you had a history of complaining about your ex-wife and gaining custody of your daughter. My apologizes for lacking a good insult. I'd say I need to spend more time on this forum but I really don't.

You still lack an argument. China has one of the smallest male:female suicide gaps in the world (the others are either Islamic or North Korea), a general expectation that women will participate in the labor force, a higher percentage of women following the STEM meme than many other developing nations, etc.

Here's a Wikipedia article for you to peruse if that's good enough for you:

Not that I think statues are an important issue, and certainly not statues of non-Confederates, but I don't see much of a difference between American slave owners to slaves, vs Nazis to Jews. How do you think TechBarb would react with a statue of this beautiful man in his neighborhood?

Slave owners owned slaves, then didn't own them. Many were even abolitionists.

Adolf Hitler exterminated people, The Ottoman Empire exterminated Armenians.
Yes, a huge amount of slaves were murdered etc but slavery and genocide are not morally equivalent.

don't think HBB understands the intense pressure that Chinese societies place on male heirs, so much so their history is riddled with texts begging women not to kill their female young.

Just because the labor gap is so large in China that it appears not to discriminate in terms of hiring does not mean China is at all pro-equality or something. This is a really fucking bad take HBB

I could be wrong, but I didn't think HBB was saying that China is pro-equality, or progressive, or anything comparable. I thought he was suggesting that China's evidence of racism and gender bias isn't necessarily tied to its quasi-socialist agenda (and let's give credit where credit is due, China's socialism is a weird capitalist/globalist brand of socialism--it's strange).

I thought this entire argument stemmed from a comment about China being racist because they're socialist. But I'm not sure and I'm not going back 5+ pages to check.

Reactions: Dak
i have been skimming lately due to the amount of crap and replying to apathy for whatever damn reason, but Dak already addressed how Commi's are ethnically biased in China and racially discriminatory regionally. Gender, maybe, but Mao wanted everyone on the farm until he realized it was stupid -- and I imagine that movement was mostly men. I think that school children mission to the rural areas was predominantly male too

I was commenting at Mort that there's no inherent minority support in Leftism, as it was originally invented by and for whites (specifically the English and Germans). Then HBB jumped in disagreeing with unsubstantiated claims about how Soviet Russia/Maoist China were bastions of race and gender equality.
