I got bored one night and started looking for other music related message boards other than the Megadeth boards and this one popped up on google. I posted here for about a month, left out of boredom and now I am back with a vengeance.

Killswitch Engage - Alive or Just Breathing (the catalyst for my addiction to metal)

I searched for Metal forums on Yahoo and found this one, ddin't begin posting at first, but kept it in mind, became a member, posted sporadically, then finally became a regular.

I do a death metal band by myself doing all instruments and vocals, I also skip rope 15 minutes everyday. I've never seen anyone wearing an extreme metal shirt except myself. And I'm a big Dallas Cowboys fan. :)
 
Which do you prefer, Derek Deicide, or Deicide Derek? Choose wisely, because it's going to be your nickname for a while.
 
^:lol: Ironically enough, I thought of that a while back. And someone on the Deicide forum here on UM's name is Deicide Alex.

Metallica - Ride The Lightning - got me into metal in general.
Kreator - Pleasure to Kill - got me into more extreme forms of metal.
Cathedral - The Carnival Bizarre - got me into doom, which has been my favourite form of metal for quite a while now.
No others really come close to those three in terms of impact.

Metallica-Ride the Lightning(where would I be without Metallica? My first metal album)

Tristania-Widow's Weeds(my first taste of extreme metal via this gothic cheesiness)

Puissance-Mother of Disease(sweeping, bombastic and crushing, this opus, comprised of 8 hymns to the apocalypse is my favorite non-metal album. )

Demigod-Slumber of Sullen Eyes(my gateway into the old-school classics of extreme metal)

Varathron-His Majesty at the Swamp(a black metal gem that actually changed my perspective on music,teaching me that I have to be patient in my listening, i.e, that there is often more to an album than what seems to be there on the surface)

I'm a big gaming/metal nerd.

I'll unveil myself and my totally metal pet monstrosity once I remember to acquire a USB cable for the cellphone.
