My main axes are a customized 90's Jackson Professional and a '84 Carvin DC200.
I have a very cool customized 70's Peavey Artist amp with Sovteks and a 15" Celestian(that amp is a tank) and a Roland Micro Cube.
Not much on effects...I front the Peavey with a DOD 250 preamp/overdrive reissue.
I use DR strings 9-42 or GHS Boomers 9-46 and Dunlop Gator Grip picks 1.14mm.

OK first of all I suck by todays standards so lets get that out first

1. What is your name?
Steve
2. What instrument(s) do you play and how long have you been playing?
guitar - 70-77. 86-94, just picked it up again, its long storys of being totally disheartened, broke, left handed, let me just say if Im not playing with at least a drummer I loose something very important inside ... inspiration, heart
3. What style(s) of music do you play?
from a sappy funky smooth jazz through blues, hardrock, boogie and metal
4. What, if any, music education have you had?
self taught, HS basic theory, Berklee summer course in '75, theory, harmony, arrangment - basic - did OK - 80%, was told not to pursue rock music because it was a trend that was going to die .....
5. What bands/projects have you been involved with (just a name/brief description)?
jammed with my best friend an excellent natural drummer in the 70's, two cover bands from 86-91, and co wrote origionals with my friends from 91-93 when it imploded and I faded away by 94/95 sitting around by myself
6. What goals do you have in music?
to finally finish what we started in 91 but my comrade Todd died just recently and Im so lost
7. Who are your 5 greatest musical influences?
more, but primarily the people I have played with and what ever evil lives in my mind
8. What gear do you use? (pics are welcome!)
Kramer 110 - black, bridge humbucker, single coil neck, real Floyd Rose, its not bad, about middle of the road I guess, being left handed you just dont get options or much to compare to.
Randall RG80 solid state with a Carvin X100B tube in stereo through an Art SGX 2000 & Alesis Midiverb - old stuff

When the band imploded due to involving some very non compliant people in 92' I ran an add in Albany music stores for people interested in origional progressive metal along the lines of Fates Warning/Dream Theater (not that I have that skill but I did have 50% of that mind), I did not get one call. Smashing Pumpkins was the newest latest thing and I felt music died. Todd(Bass, vocals) and I got together to continue work but life got in the way, he moved an hour away, I was busy and, well I dont wish it on anyone. We had an entire concept "album" worth of material, some of it pretty damn good. I live in the country so finding people interested in that sort of music, commitment and hard work is nearly impossible at least at that time with the trend change. I did write what I consider my epic swan song after this breakup about the whole ordeal, and it was pretty damn good. That is now what Im relearning and plan on recording one way or the other. Things have changed and I envy you younger people and wish you all the luck in the world. :headbang:
