The official movie thread

You make your own hell. Even in the guys fantasy world he couldn't let himself have the things he wanted. Good movie.

I don't know if it could be put any better. Yep, that about sums it up.

And Blue...so Bug...don't waste my time/money seein it? Hmm... I thought it might have potential.

And Ashley Judd naked... see Norma Jean and Marilyn or Normal Life

The movie sets out to spread insanity and it works because I felt insane watching it. Problem is it's a horrible movie. The whole movie is dialogue, and with a budget it might have been good if you could see the things they were imagining.

At first I wasn't that into his accent in the film, but I got used to it. I really didn't think it was bad, it didn't distract me or anything.

My thoughts exactly. Not too bad at all, though his performance in The Departed I thought was FAR superior yet it was Blood Diamond he got nominated for. Go figure.

@Angelina: Hey, that's cool! I would have watched that all the way through for sure. I really do think the first season was the best one in PB, while the second delivered as well...while it was cool when they broke out and all, somehow it wasn't as appealing (but not to say it lost its overall quality.)
I should check out Lost as well, actually...

ANd Heroes...is it REALLY all it's cracked up to be? A few I know are REALLY into that show, but I think I only saw like one episode where the brother of this blonde-haired girl viewed the videotape of her surviving some crazy car accident or something and began calling her a freak, lol. In any case, it seemed ok.

No matter what people think Leo is a top notch actor. Look at the Aviator, basket ball diaries, or the departed.

Yeah, I figured that. Aye, you can't watch everything, right? I mean damn, you have your Prison Break, Lost, Heroes, Smallville, Supernatural, etc etc the list can go on. Prison Break is the one I stuck with, hehe.

Haha, fucking right, but you're forgetting What's Eating Gilbert Grape with Johnny Depp. What an awesome movie and WHAT an amazing performance from Leo as the mentally challenged boy. I was like, damn...that's Leo? And Basketball Diaries - one of my fave movies.

Who's looking forward to Transformers here, besides me? lol. I have a feeling this will be the biggest grosser of the year, topping Spidey 3 and PotC (which I'm not big on at all.)

This year is going to be so good for those of us liking superhero/children hero films..
Spidey 3 (VENOM!)
Transformers (looks awesome and beyond)
TMNT (my childhood heroes)
FF: rise of the silver surfer.. (hey, you cant go wrong with the silver surfer!)

I love this summer already..

Venom was in it for like 30 minutes though, and he was a pussy :/

I'm stoked on the Silver Surfer though, though I'm not happy with the Fantastic Four cast.

I just watched Factotum, its a Bukowski book. Really good movie. Maybe not for everyone, but I love his books, and it had a pretty good Bukowski vibe goin.

Over the past three days, I've watched Stalingrad, Twin Sisters, Saints and Soldiers... Watching Europa Europa tonight, I think. Either that or Joyeux Noel.

what amazed me pretty much with Factotum is that it showed Matt Dilon is pretty much a good actor.

i honestly didnt believe that he could pull off Bukowski's role so convincingly.

lots of people recommended me Barfly (w/ Mickey Rourke), but i havent watched it yet.

Possibly going to watch Europa Europa tonight. Not sure what I'll feel like doing.

Yeah man I agree. I was never quite sure whether or not I thought of him as a good actor, but after watching Factotum I realized that he can pull of some pretty diverse rolls. I mean, to think he played that Bukowski role so well and is also Drama on Entourage is pretty impressive. Seems like two completely different actors.

I'm trying to download Barfly but its going really slow. I believe its out of print isn't it? My parents actually saw it at some "indie" theater or some place and said it was really good.

Yesterday I watched The Fountain and I liked it. I think Hugh Jackman's performance was very good. I like when he's sitting on the bed and starts crying, it looks so natural... very well done in my opinion. Also the sweetness Rachel Weisz transmits during the movie. I liked the effects, the photography too. After watching the movie, I watched the extras, how it was done, some interviews and stuff... I got to know some interesting facts about it.

I'm about to start Lost's 2nd season. I'm terribly excited. It just keeps getting better.

I just watched Fountain. The vision was unbelievably good and the performance of Hugh Jackman is great but sincerely is there sth. more?I saw nothing else.Too mystic and illusional. Some of you might like it a lot but it's not what I like in movies.I would like to see some real emotion, some real feelings and real human.I mean if there was a realistic plot that was connected to some mystic stuff I could have liked it,but the whole movie was just like a dream or hallucination. As I said before some may like that kinda stuff but I think I'm more into some more realistic stuff or phsychological stuff.I can easily say that Requiem for A Dream was waaaay better IMO.

And there is one more film I'd like to talk about and it's Das Experiment. It was one hell of journey through human nature and violence. The plot could have been used better but I think the budget was barely enough for this. The movie says one thing to you; you are not what you think you are,you are what you are told to be...

edit:the departed sucked ballz too...sorry.
