Saw a short movie Un chien andalou by Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dalí. To think it was made 1929. They don't make that jolly and clear perceivability holding pieces anymore, except documentarys.
Lynch is grate but he overdoes things so often. Well it's really an important tool for him and his speciality, so no complaints.

I saw an Icelandic film called Hafið recently, really amusing & entertaining. It's about the disturbed relationships of an Icelandic family, or as IMDB says:
"Wealthy, aging patriarch Thordur assembles his scattered heirs to discuss the future of the family fishery. But bringing everyone together unleashes a storm of long-repressed sexual abuse, lingering suspicions, sibling rivalries and incestuous passions. Ultimately, it's a heartless battle between the past and the future that culminates in a night of explosive rage."

Hafið is an amazing movie! Highly recommended! Other movies I can recommend as being more than watchable:

I saw Irreversible and 21 Grams. Irreversible is pretty disturbing, but well done for sure and Monica Bellucci's appearance alone makes any movie worth watching.
21 Grams was great too, I really like Iñaritu's films. Babel was very great too.
Dogville has been on my 'to watch' list for some time. The Fountain sounds interesting too and so does The Wind That Shakes the Barley and well Ondskan too!
BTW, so Ondskan means 'evil' apparently, so Ondskapt means like 'most evil' or something? Just wondering..

Yup, those are certainly watch able Bof: Irréversible, Ondskan, 21 Grams and Dogville. I haven't seen The Wind that Shakes the Barley or Hafið.
As unbelievable as it is, I still haven't seen The Fountain either. I would really like to find some of Arnofskys bPi stuff as well. The only piece involving him I have been a bit disappointed was Below.
From Danny Boyle I've only seen a few movies, good ones, except The Beach. He quite raped the book.

hehe it was just to mention that those movie weren't "popcorn-action"-movies like Sunshine, Die Hard, The day after tomorrow and such
Lilya 4-ever, was actually quite disturbing, i enjoyed it though. Only thing to add is that the acting lack a bit i think. But clearly watchable and recommendable anyways
i'm going to watch room 1408 now... big fan of Stephen King so I expect a lot from it.

i watched babel the other day. can't say I liked it that much. It was just one bad, dramatic thing after another to the point where you just feel like shit. Every time it switches to a certain character its like "geez whats gonna fuck up now?"

Has anyone seen "Murder Set Pieces" yet?
Independent Horrorfilm.
I don't know what to think, I mean, I'm into these low-budget horror movies with bad acting and cheesy dialogue, but I mean the killer's a fascist nazi German, who's grandfather was highly ranked in the third reich, and he has a picture of his grandfather with Hitler on it and shit.
I mean, it's funny, considering I'm German myself.
I would suggest to take a look into it, to find the perfect definition of independent filmmaking.
And I saw "Hard Candy" recently, fucking incredible movie in my opinion.
