The Official What-do-you-do-for-a-living Thread!

Wow...never thought it was that different.

We have:

Elementary school lower level: grades 1-6
Elementary school higher level: grades 7-9
High school:1-3(or 10-13). Although the average time you are there is like 2.5 years.
University:3-9 years or something.

You still do A-Levels though right? After GCSEs.

So yeah to keep it simple, I'm on my second, and last, year of A-levels.

We have Secondary School for 5 years (like high school, years 7,8,9,10 and 11) But then the next two years (A-Levels) are done either in a 6th Form College or sometimes a Secondary School will have it's own 6th form (years 12 and 13). So after A-levels comes University.

it's quite the same in Germany and I just finished my last year:D

yep i know but what we wrote sounded similar the german crap so..

I'm also a master's student with 3 jobs. I'm a substitute teacher (pays pretty well) though I could get off my ass and have a real teaching position (pays enough that I could move out) if I tried, a waitress on Saturdays for my dad and a radio DJ (not paid). Right now I'm sitting on my butt til September.

Omg, Adriana! :tickled:
What the hell possessed you to come back to this shit hole?

Ok, my title at work is "career specialist", but what I really am is a case manager. I help homeless people of Seattle get ready for and find employment and I also teach a job readiness training class, to the same folks.

hahaha... I guess boredom, who knows..

So you're still in Seattle? When r u coming to visit, or when can I visit?! :p

I've just finished high school, I work at my dad's office.

i'm in high school and don't have a job, so all my time goes into forums, bands, and gettin drunk

I'm starting at High School when the holidays are over, that's it.

I'm starting my second year in High School.

So my life is:pretty much living at home playing guitar or out partying

...i feel old :erk:

I'm currently work experience at M&S. lol. Tomorrow is my last day. Hallejuah.
But I'm still in secondary school. and next year is my last year.

I'm 23 and I study history and German Linguistics/Literature at university, being in my 6th semester (it ended today) and I will have a teacher's degree at the end of my studies (what's called "Staatsexamen/state examination"). I think of studying Latin as third subject, but I'm not sure, because I would have to learn greek in that case...

To make a living (a very poor one with a very small but expensive appartment), I teach some kids guitar at the music school of my step father and do some other jobs from time to time (proofreading a children's book was the last).

Pretty interesting to have another teacher here :)
